Saturday 10th Dec 12 noon Nettworx Power Services returns for a second year as the main sponsor of Eskra's Rudolph Run 2016.
Company representative and local man Declan Hamill commented "We're delighted to be involved in this well-established event again this year and hope our contribution helps with its continued growth. We were delighted with the success of last year's event and feel sure it's popularity will continue to grow". Last year's chosen charity was The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust in memory of the late Paul Murray - a member of the organisers - Knockmany Running Club. This year's beneficiary charities will be announced soon. This year's 10k & 5k routes will be the same as last year, following positive comments about the change from previous years. There will be an increased prize fund of about £1,300 which includes cash prizes of £100 to the winners of the men's & ladies team event with 2nd & 3rd place cash prizes as well. The main event winner - male & female will receive £100 with 2nd & 3rd places receiving £75 & £50 respectively. There will also be vet category prizes as well as U-18 & Over-18 male & female prizes in the 5k race. New this year will be £100 prizes for setting a new record time over the 10k course in both male & female categories. The present record for the men's race is 31:44 set by Stephen Duncan in 2011. Anne-Marie McGlynn set a fastest time of 35:01 for the ladies last year. There will be two pre-reg nights - Wed 7th & Fri 9th Dec in Eskra Community Centre from 7 to 9pm. Race day registration is from 9.30 to 11.30am.
